Born just outside of Stoke on Trent, I have always been interested in Science and Technology. I went to University at Staffordshire University studying Biochemistry and Microbiology. After University I tried my hand at teaching, first as a Part-Time Lecturer at Stoke on Trent College, where I wrote a module to the Return to Study Open College course, and then as an Associate Teacher at Berry Hill High school. After deciding that this was not a career path I wanted, I joined Singlepoint as a Credit Control advisor, spent four months as a Development Coach, until Joining the MI Team in December of 2004. In 2009, I took redundancy to allow me to move to South Birmingham to be with my future wife, and started working at Britvic Soft Drinks Ltd. In February of 2012, I got married at Crewe Hall in Cheshire.

Working as a Data Quality Analysis within the Learner Records Service of the Skills Funding Agency, I am responsible for reviewing learner data, ensuring the quality of data arriving from the various learning providers and awarding associations. This includes identifying specific issues arising from the transfer of data, as well as monitoring the various algorithms used to identify learners, recommending and testing potential improvements and data fixes. I have also been involved in the maintenance and development of the Learning Record Service’s Analysis Sandpit. Within this role I was responsible for analysing internal customers’ data and reporting requirements, and developing a detail project specification based on these requirements. This required me to lease with all parts of the business, as well as external agencies and outsourcing groups, to establish a consistent reporting approach. I was also responsible for handling customers’ “Ad Hoc” queries, regarding current reporting. This required me to develop new reporting protocols using software such as Microsoft SLQ Analyser, Access, Excel, Word and PowerPoint, as well as more specialised reporting software such as Business Objects, and to ensure all new reports and processes produced are tested and validated. I was also required to produce key monthly processes which calculate Sales Agent Commissions payments and Credit Operations Agents Performance Rating against Business Improvement Matrices.

I am an avid movie fan, especially within the Action Adventure, Science Fiction and “Sword and Sorcery” genre. I also enjoy reading similar materials. I have a keen interest in Science and Technology. I have a keen interest in History, and enjoy visiting historical sites such as Castle, Stately Homes and Battle fields (with a special interest in Medieval History of Britain).
